LARGE FORMAT PRINTING
LARGE FORMAT PRINTING in Salt Lake City, UT.
A graphic that looked perfect on a screen can fall apart at 10 feet wide. Resolution, color profile, and material choice all change when a design stops being viewed and starts being walked past. M Graphics & Signs Inc handles large format printing in Salt Lake City, UT for banners, window graphics, wall coverings, and rigid panels.

BIG PRINTS PUNISH SMALL MISTAKES.
At poster size, a soft edge or a slightly wrong red goes unnoticed. Enlarge the same file to cover a wall and both become the first thing anyone sees. We check resolution against final dimensions, convert color properly for the output profile, and proof anything uncertain before the full run, because reprinting 200 square feet helps nobody.
Material choice matters just as much. The same image needs a different substrate on a mesh fence banner, a backlit face, a floor graphic, and a wall covering that has to come off cleanly.
- All printing done in house
- Indoor, outdoor, and backlit media
- Color matched to your brand values
- Discount on multiple signs and locations
Smoother Daily Operation
A door sized and hung correctly opens and closes without sticking, dragging, or requiring a shoulder to shut. We confirm dimensions and swing direction before ordering so the finished door operates the way it should from day one.
LARGE FORMAT PRINTING
THE FASTEST WAY TO CHANGE WHAT A SPACE SAYS.
Permanent signage takes weeks and a permit. Printed graphics take days and no approval at all, which makes them the right tool when a message needs to change with a season, a promotion, or a rebrand. A window wrap, a fence banner, or a set of wall panels can transform how a building reads by the end of the week, then come down just as easily when the moment passes.
PRINTED FOR UTAH SUN, WIND, AND SNOW.
Outdoor graphics in this valley face intense ultraviolet exposure at altitude, gusts down the canyons, and months of freeze and thaw. Standard indoor media chalks and cracks within a season here. We print exterior work on solvent or latex-rated vinyl, laminate anything that will see direct sun, and finish banners with welded hems and reinforced grommets. Those details are why our banners survive a full Utah winter on an exposed fence.
COLOR THAT MATCHES, PRINT AFTER PRINT AFTER PRINT.
Brand color is where printing gets judged. A red that drifts between the banner, the window graphic, and the storefront sign undermines everything the branding was meant to do. Since 1999 we have built color profiles for the media we run, so the same file produces the same result on vinyl, on rigid panel, and on a translucent face lit from behind. What needs to match on your project?
WHAT WIDE-FORMAT PRINTING DELIVERS
A MESSAGE THAT CHANGES FAST
Promotions, seasons, and announcements move quicker than permanent signage ever can. Printed graphics go up in days, do their job, and come down without touching the permanent identity underneath.
COVERAGE AT ANY SCALE
Wide-format equipment handles a small window decal and a full building wrap with the same file preparation. Scale stops being a limit on what the space can carry.
CONSISTENT COLOR EVERYWHERE
Profiled output means the blue on your banner is the blue on your window and the blue on your panel. Customers register that consistency even when they never consciously notice it.
NO PERMIT DELAY
Most temporary and window graphics fall outside permanent sign permitting, so a project can move from artwork to installed in the same week without waiting on municipal review.
BETTER VALUE ACROSS SITES
Running several locations on one press setup keeps unit costs down and colors identical. We apply a discount on multiple signs and locations for exactly that reason on repeat runs.
REMOVES WITHOUT DAMAGE
Chosen properly, films lift cleanly from glass, drywall, and painted surfaces when the campaign ends. Nothing is left behind for a landlord to raise at the end of a lease.
WHAT WE PRINT
OUR LARGE FORMAT PRINTING WORK.
Printed graphics cover far more ground than most businesses realize, indoors and out. These are the formats leaving our press most weeks for clients across the Salt Lake valley, all produced from your files.

HUNG GRAPHICS
Vinyl Banners
Heavyweight scrim vinyl with welded hems and reinforced grommets handles grand openings, sponsorships, and construction fencing. Mesh versions let wind pass through, which keeps large outdoor pieces from tearing loose in a canyon gust.

GLASS AND WALL
Window and Wall Graphics
Cut vinyl lettering, full-color window wraps, perforated one-way film, and interior wall murals all print here. Removable adhesives mean a seasonal campaign leaves the surface exactly as it was found when it comes down.

RIGID STOCK
Rigid Panel Printing
Graphics printed directly onto aluminum composite, PVC, acrylic, and corrugated board become self-supporting panels. These suit real estate signage, site boards, menu displays, and anything that has to stand without a frame behind it.

PORTABLE SETUP
Trade Show and Event Graphics
Retractable banner stands, backdrop walls, table throws, and pop-up displays travel to conferences and return for the next one. Tension fabric versions pack small and set up without tools in minutes on the stand.

UNDERFOOT
Floor and Surface Graphics
Textured, slip-rated laminates let printed graphics live safely on floors, stairs, and counters. Retailers use them for directional prompts and promotions in the exact place a decision gets made by the customer.

IN STORE
Posters and Point-of-Purchase Displays
Short-run posters, shelf talkers, counter cards, and window bills refresh a retail space quickly and often. Printing in house makes a run of five as practical to produce as a run of 500.

THE WORD ON OUR WORK
WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY.
Print clients tend to arrive with a deadline someone else already missed. What we hear back most is surprise at how quickly artwork turns into finished graphics, and relief that the color came out matching the sign already on their building.
Common Questions
frequently asked
questions.
Printing questions almost always come down to files, materials, and how long the finished graphic will last. These are the ones we answer most often before a job goes to press.
What is large format printing used for?
Any graphic too big for a standard press: banners, window wraps, wall murals, trade show displays, and rigid signage. The defining feature is width, with rolls running several feet across in a single pass of the print head.
What is the difference between large format and grand format printing?
Scale, mostly. Large format covers rolls up to roughly 5 feet wide, which handles banners, graphics, and most signage. Grand format runs wider still for billboards and building wraps, usually printed in panels and joined on site seamlessly.
Which banner material lasts longest outdoors?
Heavyweight scrim vinyl around 13 to 18 ounces with welded hems outperforms lighter stock by a wide margin. For exposed or windy sites, mesh vinyl lasts longer still because it releases pressure instead of fighting it in a gust.
How long does printed vinyl last in the sun?
Unlaminated outdoor vinyl typically holds up for 2 to 3 years before fading becomes obvious. Adding a UV laminate roughly doubles that. At Utah's altitude, exposure is harsher than national averages suggest, so we laminate exterior work by default.
Can printed graphics be applied to windows without blocking light?
Perforated one-way film is designed for exactly that. Roughly half the surface is tiny holes, so the image reads solid from outside while staff and customers still see out and daylight still reaches the interior through the glass.
What is the difference between laminated and unlaminated prints?
Lamination adds a clear protective layer over the printed surface. It blocks ultraviolet light, resists scuffing and moisture, and makes cleaning safe. Unlaminated prints are fine indoors or for short campaigns but fade noticeably outdoors within a season.
Can large format prints be mounted to rigid panels?
Yes, one of our most common finishes. Graphics print then laminate onto aluminum composite, PVC, or acrylic, producing a flat panel that needs no frame. M Graphics & Signs Inc has made these in Salt Lake City, UT for 27 years.
How are printed wall graphics removed without damaging paint?
Gentle heat softens the adhesive so the film peels back on itself instead of pulling the surface. Choosing removable adhesive at the start matters more than technique later. M Graphics & Signs Inc has followed that in Salt Lake City, UT.

HOW WE WORK
FROM YOUR FILE TO A FINISHED GRAPHIC, HERE IS HOW.
STEP 01
Check The Artwork First
Before anything prints, we open the file and check resolution against the finished size, look at color mode and spot values, confirm fonts are outlined, and verify bleed. Most print problems are caught right here.
STEP 02
Match The Media To The Job
Indoor or outdoor, flat or curved, permanent or temporary, walked on or looked at. Each answer points to a different substrate and laminate, and we recommend based on where the graphic will actually live.
STEP 03
Proof The Color
For brand-critical work, we print a section at full size and compare it against your reference under normal light. Approving a real sample removes any argument about what the finished piece should look like.
STEP 04
Print The Run
The job goes to press with the profile locked, so every panel in a multi-piece graphic comes off matching. Long runs are printed in one session rather than split across days for exactly that reason.
STEP 05
Laminate, Cut, And Finish
Protective laminate goes on where the application calls for it, then contour cutting, hemming, grommeting, or panel mounting finishes the piece. Edges are checked by hand before anything is rolled or boxed for delivery.
STEP 06
Install Or Hand Over
Our crews apply window, wall, and floor graphics on site, squeegeeing out air and trimming to the edge. Simpler pieces can be collected or delivered with application instructions if you prefer to fit them yourself.
